近日,香港中文大学(深圳)机器人与人工智能实验室林天麟教授通过严格的评审与选拔成为美国电气和电子工程师协会(IEEE)高级会员。IEEE协会充分肯定了其在机器人领域所取得的成果,并对其在相关领域较深厚的知识储备、扎实的科研能力以及刻苦钻研的精神表示高度认可。

IEEE全称是美国电子电气工程师学会(Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers),是国际性电子技术与信息科学工程师学会。致力于电气、电子、计算机工程和与科学有关的领域的开发和研究,IEEE是世界权威的标准制定机构,已在航空航天、信息技术、电力及消费性电子产品等领域制定了900多个行业标准,近1600项有效标准和600项标准正在开发之中。每年出版的电气电子和计算机科学领域的技术文献约占全球同类文献的1/3,同时结集出版电气工程、通讯、计算机理论及方法领域的专业技术期刊,数量达140余册。每年在全球举办的专业技术会议多达1800余场。作为世界上最大的专业技术组织之一(成员人数),在160多个国家拥有超过40万会员。在目前全球43万名IEEE会员中,高级会员的数量仅占8%。可见,IEEE高级会员是对当选者在学术造诣和其对全球电力技术发展所做贡献的高度认可。在研究或工程技术领域取得一定成就者,通过IEEE评审委员会的严格审核,才可获得IEEE高级会员资格:
- 候选人必须是IEEE相关领域的工程师、科学家、教师、技术主管或发明家;
- 从业经验需达到十年,并在其中五年有杰出表现。

林天麟,IEEE高级会员,担任香港中文大学(深圳)助理教授、机器人与人工智能实验室副主任。他于2006年和2010年获得香港中文大学一等荣誉工程学学士和自动化与计算机辅助工程系博士学位。林教授的研究集中在软机器人、多机器人系统和人机交互领域。他在机器人和自动化系统的开发方面拥有丰富的经验,如远程呈现机器人、无人海面车辆、爬树机器人、四轮独立转向和驾驶车辆、工业6轴机器人臂系统、救援机器人、家庭服务机器人和教学机器人。
他在机器人和自动化系统的开发方面有着丰富的经验,他的研究成果也出现在许多受欢迎的媒体上,包括路透社、探索频道、福布斯、Wired和IEEE Spectrum等。他获得了50多项专利,出版了2部专著,6篇国际期刊论文,近30篇国际顶级期刊论文。其中一篇期刊论文获得了2011年IEEE/ASME T-MECH最佳论文奖。林教授还担任TRO、JFR、ICRA和IROS等机器人和自动化领域的主要国际期刊和会议论文的联合主席和审稿人。
Biography
Tin Lun Lam, Senior Member of IEEE, serves as Assistant Professor and Executive Deputy Director of Robotics & AI Lab of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. He received his B.Eng. Degree with First Class Honors and Ph.D. Degree in Robotics and Automation from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2006 and 2010, respectively. Prof. Lam’s research focuses on the areas of soft robotics, multi-robot systems, and human-robot coordination. He has extensive experiencein the development of robotic and automation systems. Numbers of his research outcomes also featured in numerous popular media outlets including Reuters, Discovery Channel, Forbes, Wired, and IEEE Spectrum. Based on his research, he has been granted over 50 patents, published 2 monographs, 6 international journal papers, over 30 international conference papers in top tier international journals and conference proceedings in robotics and automation such as TRO, JFR, T-MECH, ICRA, and IROS. One of the journal papers was received an IEEE/ASME T-MECH Best Paper Award in 2011.
